Funny thing about any journey, you never know what unexpected joy or surprise awaits you. It may be something that gives you pause to enjoy or observe; it may be something that needs to be solved or slightly changes your plans. Part of the excitement of any journey is the unforeseen possibilities that come up along the way. Such is the case with this month’s publication.
We are just three months into our journey with The Journey as our church newsletter. (How many of you still make reference to The Bell? I know I and the staff have many times!) With this issue we introduce two new columns that will be regular features in the coming year.
The first is the accompanying column on this page, submitted by Ed LeBaron on behalf of your eldership. Your elders have always made prayer a high priority, and we have verbalized and modeled that prayer undergirds all that we do here as a congregation. Ed’s article explains a recently new focus of prayer by your elders, and as was said in our last meeting, “Why are we keeping this to ourselves?” Hence the introduction of a monthly item called Elders Prayer Points.
Second, look for a column on page 5 that is the first of a series that highlights each of our Ministry Teams. These will help you know what our ministries are, how you might be able to be involved in one, and especially how you can pray for the work that is being done through each ministry.
Enjoy the journey, and keep your eyes open for God’s surprises!
